Habitare is held every autumn at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre. The five-day event has established its position on the Finnish design scene. The history of the Habitare fair goes back to 1970, and in 2013 it will bring together the general public and professionals to celebrate design for the 24th time. In 2012 the fair attracted some 57,000 visitors.
 
The event focuses on the interior design and function of homes and public spaces. The main product groups, exhibited in their own areas, include furniture; interior textiles; interior decoration materials and supplies; kitchens; bathrooms and saunas; fireplaces and furnaces; interior decoration accessories; and home theatre and AV equipment.

In addition to the hundreds of exhibitors, the Habitare fair boasts exciting special sections. The ahead! design area features the newest and most interesting design related to interior decoration. It provides a versatile, high quality and surprising meeting place for design and interior decoration crowd.

Habitare consists of areas exhibiting interior decoration solutions for both homes and public paces, ranging from furniture and materials to art and unique design products.

Halls 6 and 7, which form the largest exhibition area at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre, will house the Ahead! international design area, the Interiore public spaces area, ValoLight, as well as furniture, home theatres and interior textiles.

The other halls on the ground floor will feature bathrooms, fireplaces, kitchens, interior decoration materials, and the popular interior decoration accessories area. The sales exhibitions on the upper floor will offer an opportunity to purchase antiques, vintage items and art.
